I am, CL Lucas, an author. I’m just a guy trying to find his way in the military after-life. My biggest mistake before joining the military to pursue the only thing I’d ever planned to do was not asking, “What to do when you’ve outgrown that one thing and is no longer there for the identity? Losing one’s identity is a kick in the nuts. Now, that afterthought is part of my advice supporting those with budding futures. Putting that question in their forethought is the advice. My identity now is in part; this website.  This, a central hub connecting to some social, some blogs, some businesses, and is a prompt reminder to keep my ass in gear and write. Here is a repository for the snippets. On an somber note, relative to the above – I’m institutionalized. Meaning, the military was my soul and purpose. It’s tough seeing the multiple decades become something for naught when the country you fought for takes a leftward turn.

A Fondness for Writing

Somehow, as genes go, I wound up with more creative ability, than the creative ability to do arithmetic with any significant skill. Some people are made such, better with the creative than the math. I don’t know which is best – but I do know I have been writing since my fingers could hold a pen and writing is more enjoyable than math. I’d be a whiz at art, with practice and I’ve written poetry…but for now, it is creative fiction as CL or under a pseudonym The Boog.
